  • A Tree fell on my power lines on early morning on July 1st. Lights were on but fluttering in a very ominous way. I flipped off the main breaker and my wife and dogs hit the road to New Orleans. I live in Birmingham, Alabama. July here is brutal. Windows opened, I sat in 96 degree weather trying to figure my next move. I saw the ratings for Mr. Electric and reached out for an estimate. Mr. Joey Sergio shows up promptly and exactly when expected. He examined the situation, gave the estimate, answered all my questions. I took some time to consider getting other estimates, but I from that very first meeting, I was confident I had found the right people. After confirming to have the work done on a Wednesday, the representative said that Joey would be busy on another job through Monday and couldn’t do it. I had enough of my situation, so I said that I needed anyone ASAP. They set an appointment for 8 a.m. Friday and I got to work getting ready for whoever is coming to help me. Friday morning I get message confirming that Mr. Joey Sergio will be at my at 8. When Joey showed up I knew I was going to be be alright. I asked how long after he finishes can I expect the power company, inspection and, ultimately power back on? He said “We will have you back on today”. I was floored. I didn’t expect to hear that at all. In my mind, I estimated that if I were lucky, maybe the middle of the next week. Me – “HOW?”. “How can you possibly do this?”. Joey explained that he and his team had already procured the equipment, been first in line, already coordinated with the power company linemen to show up and do their part exactly when they knew it would be time and wrap it up. I watched these guys run and man what a show. I have been without television for 11 days and who needs it. These men worked seamlessly, precisely and aggressively. Before I knew it and way before I expected it, the meter was in and the main breaker was switched with a very, very satisfying sound. I am sure that I have heard commercials selling terrible furniture or something like that saying their sale was “like Christmas in July!”. After being extremely uncomfortable for 11 days without my wife, alone in an oppressively hot, dark, stagnant and wholly depressing place, my house lit up brighter than any Christmas tree I can ever remember.   • Long story short my outside meter socket was damaged/decaying and the electric company required me to repair it in 30 days or my power would be turned off. I looked online and searched electrical companies in the Birmingham area. A number of them came up and I researched their reviews and Mr. Electric had the overall best rating. – They came out to assess the damage and gave me an estimate for the repairs. I felt it was reasonable based on the amount of work. I agreed to the terms and they started the work immediately. They also took care of the inspection, the permits and contacting the power to confirm the work the had been done. They were prompt, professional and did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them for your electrical needs and I will be using them for future projects I have in mind.
