Joel Worthington
President
Joel Worthington joined The Dwyer Group® in 2009 when he became a franchise developer for Mr. Electric. From 2010-2011 he served as a franchise consultant for the organization before being named vice president. Joel was named president of Mr. Electric in 2014.
Career Highlights
Joel’s career in franchising began in 2006 with DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen, an affiliate of The Dwyer Group, where he served as recruiter and vice president of recruiting and development. Before entering franchising Joel was a pastor of 16 years. Joel has focused on strategic initiatives during his time with Mr. Electric by creating new sales, customer service, commercial sales program and accounting systems while revamping the training and education platforms. Joel represents the electrical industry well, serving on the Executive Board of Electrical Safety Foundation International. Joel is also involved in community service through the Habitat for Humanity program.
Education
He has a BA in Biblical Studies from Trinity Bible College and a BS in Professional Studies from Southwestern University. In 2014 Joel received the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation through the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.

Charles Boyd
Vice President of Operations
Charles Boyd stepped into the role of Vice President of Operations for Mr. Electric in January 2024. In this position, Charles serves in a leadership role for franchise support, training, continuous improvement in systems and processes, and the growth and development of all franchise owners and stakeholders in the Mr. Electric franchise system.
Career Highlights
Charles joined Neighborly in 2019 as a Franchise Business Coach for Mr. Appliance, where he coached franchise owners by monitoring key metrics and determining strategies to overcome obstacles, expand leadership skills, and guide their teams to achieve their company and personal goals. In January 2022, Charles became the Director of Systems for the Neighborly Hub Team. In this role, Charles led the implementation of Neighborly Hub practices across all US markets. His focus was creating meaningful connections between franchise owners from various brands and creating systems, processes, and training for executing strategic initiatives and vision for Neighborly.
Prior to his Neighborly and Mr. Electric roles, Charles was the Director of Purchasing and Inventory Control for Magnolia and the General Manager for Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches in Waco, Texas.
Education
Charles graduated with a BBA in Entrepreneurial Studies and Small Business Operations from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
