  • A pool circuit is a dedicated electrical setup that powers all the essential components of a swimming pool and reduces the risk of electrical overload. To power your pool circuit you have options:

    Dedicated Circuit

    • The simplest and most common way to get your pool pump wired is to add a dedicated circuit to an existing electrical panel.
  • Sub-Panel

    • If the existing electrical panel is full—meaning there’s no physical breaker space or panel capacity to add new circuits—Mr. Electric will install a sub-panel for the pool equipment.

    Service Upgrade

    • Another option for a full existing panel is to request a service upgrade from your electrical company. This increases your panel's capacity to support more circuits and ensures your home has the power needed for pool equipment and other future additions.

Our Pool Circuit Installation Process

Mr. Electric has completed thousands of pool circuit installments to date. Your local Mr. Electric offers a portfolio of product solutions, including electrical panel repairs and pool circuit installations that touch every part of the electrical safety process. Here’s a look at our pool circuit installation process:

  1. Assessment and Planning: First, our licensed electricians evaluate your existing electrical panel and determine your power needs for pool equipment.
  2. Panel and Circuit Preparation: If your panel has space, we install a dedicated pool circuit. If it’s full, we can add a sub-panel or recommend a service upgrade to ensure your system can handle the additional load.
  3. Wiring and Grounding: We install high-quality wiring and ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) to ensure the safe operation of all pool components near water.
  4. Connection of Pool Equipment: Our team connects your pool pump, heater, lighting, and any additional equipment to the new circuit to verify each component’s compatibility with the electrical system.
  5. Testing and Final Inspection: We complete a thorough safety test and inspection to ensure all components meet code requirements and operate correctly, giving you confidence in your pool’s electrical setup.
