Had Mr. Electric change out 2 electrical panels, 2 smoke detectors, 2 electrical sockets and 2 light switches. They added an additional socket for our tankless water heater. They also did a check in each room of the circuitry. They also installed our Ring doorbell. Jon and Hunter were extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They explained everything completely and were very fast. They cleaned up completely upon finishing all the jobs. We have used Mr. Electric before and will continue to use them if we need any electrical work in the future. Thank you Jon, Hunter and Mr. Electric.

Schedule ServiceFrequently Asked Questions About EV Charger Installation in Taylor, Texas
The safety of you, your family, and home are the top priority of every local Mr. Electric service professional. Our safety-first commitment to solving your electrical issues includes a meticulous attention to detail on every job. Our commitment also includes using our years of experience to answer your questions. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about our electrician services in Taylor, Texas.
-
Mr. Electric is your trusted provider for electric vehicle (EV) charger installation in Taylor. Our team is skilled in setting up a variety of EV chargers, including hardwired high-amperage units, plug-in models, and smart Wi-Fi options with load-sharing features. If you’re driving less than 40 miles daily, a 32—40A charger will likely meet your needs. For longer commutes or homes with multiple EVs, a 48—60A unit offers faster, efficient recharges. Renters often prefer plug-in chargers connected to a NEMA 14-50 outlet for their flexibility. Homeowners who value speed and reliability tend to choose the long-term benefits of hardwired EV charger installation in Taylor, Texas. Not sure where to start? Schedule a visit from a Mr. Electric electrician near you for expert advice on electric car charger installation in Taylor. Our team evaluates your panel capacity, manages permits, and ensures that your EV charger meets your needs and all local code requirements.
-
Most EV chargers require a dedicated 240V circuit to prevent breaker trips or interference with other appliances. While Level 1 chargers can typically use a regular outlet, the charging speed is much slower. A panel upgrade is only necessary if your panel is full or your service can’t support the added load. If your panel is near capacity, alternatives like load management devices, smart chargers that adjust during peak times, or repurposing an existing 240V circuit may allow you to bypass a full upgrade. If you’re thinking about a second EV or planning future upgrades, consider a 200A service upgrade to help future-proof your home, simplify permitting processes, and support additional high-demand appliances. A local Mr. Electric service professional can evaluate your panel’s capacity and recommend the most effective and affordable option for electric vehicle charger installation in Taylor, Texas.
-
Installing an EV charger at home typically requires both an electrical permit and a final inspection from your local building department. The installer will provide the load calculation and plan, and the inspector will verify that the dedicated circuit, breaker size, and code compliance meet local regulations. If you live in a condo, apartment, or HOA-managed community, you’ll likely need written approval from the property manager or association, in addition to a municipal permit. Many utilities and insurers require proof of a permitted installation for rebates or continued coverage. Projects that involve a panel upgrade, a new dedicated circuit, or changes to service capacity can necessitate extra permits and utility coordination. All EV charger installations in Taylor must follow local regulations and safety standards. A Mr. Electric professional in Taylor, Texas, will handle the entire process, from obtaining permits to installing the charger to coordinating the inspection.
-
EV charger installation in Taylor starts with creating a code-compliant installation plan. This includes detailed load calculations and a full panel assessment to ensure your home’s electrical system can safely support the additional demand of an EV charger. Once the permitting process is complete, a Mr. Electric service professional will install a dedicated circuit sized to your charger. We use the manufacturer’s specified torque values on all terminations, ensure proper system bonding, and add whole-home surge protection to help protect your EVSE and your vehicle from electrical surges. Mr. Electric electricians install only UL-listed components, ensure proper grounding, and add required GFCI protection for garage or outdoor locations. Outdoor EV charger installations in Taylor get extra precautions: weather-rated enclosures (NEMA 3R/4), sealed conduit with drip loops, correct mounting height, and clearances for ventilation and accessibility. Before the system is energized, we label the breaker, verify panel capacity, and test the circuit so you can begin charging confidently. For electric car charger installation in Taylor, rely on your local Mr. Electric professionals.
-
Yes! Mr. Electric professionals offer troubleshooting and EV charger repairs in Taylor. Our electricians work on most charger brands and models and provide code-compliant maintenance, including replacing worn or faulty parts such as cables, connectors, holsters, and breakers. If your charger keeps tripping breakers, running hot, or dropping offline, our team offers prompt troubleshooting. We focus on safety and compliance, completing a full review of your charger, circuit, and electrical panel before making any replacements. We also perform code-mandated adjustments such as adding GFCI protection, adjusting breaker sizes, or completing accurate load calculations. After repairs, we take care of permitting and run calibrated tests to confirm your charger is operating safely. We offer ongoing maintenance and upgrade services too, from replacing worn parts to adding surge protection or increasing circuit capacity for faster charging. For immediate repairs or a complete EV charger installation in Taylor, contact your local Mr. Electric team.
