This craft is great if you are looking for a way to add a subdued light to your living space. These lights would look great draped around a headboard!
Materials:
- White LED String Lights
- 3 Yards of White Glitter Tulle
- Clear Rubber Bands
- Scissors
Directions:
Cut the tulle into 8x8 inch square pieces. Tie and knot the tulle around each light on the string. Adjust the tulle so it surrounds each light and fasten it with a clear rubber band.
Tin Can Lanterns
This easy craft is great for outdoor barbeques, parties, and weddings! For added dimension, you can hang the cans from a tree or a wood post!
Materials:
- Recycled Tin Cans
- Hammer
- Nail
- Bailing Wire
- Pliers
- Spray Paint
- LED Tea Light Candle
Directions:
First, remove the labels from the cans. Then, use a hammer and nail to make small holes throughout the tin cans. The holes will allow light to shine through. After you are satisfied with the holes you made, cut 12-inch strips of baling wire and stick them through two of the holes at the top of the can. Using pliers, twist and secure the bailing wire. The final step is painting the tins. The cans will probably need a couple of coats of paint. When you are ready to use, place the LED tea light candles at the bottom of each can.
Illuminated Wall Art
This wall art craft is great for special events like New Year’s and weddings!
Materials:
- 18”x24” artist canvas
- Foam brush
- Mod Podge
- Gold glitter
- 3 packages of white battery-operated LED lights
- Duct tape
- Craft knife
Directions:
Firstly, cover the canvas in Mod Podge. While the canvas is still wet, dust the canvas with glitter to create your desired design. Once dry, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the canvas to secure the glitter in place. Once dry, poke small holes through the back of the canvas with a craft knife. Push the tip of the battery-operated LED light through and secure it with duct tape. Repeat this step until you are happy with the lighting display.
Dimensional Paper Lanterns
This craft is great because it allows for creative freedom! We have provided a link to a cardstock design template, but any design works! These lights are great for outdoor parties and centerpieces!
Materials:
- Drinking glass with straight sides
- Card stock
- Double-sided tape
- LED candles
- Craft knife
Directions:
First, trace the cutout pattern design onto the cardstock. Then, using the craft knife, cut along the line of the petals and fold the petals up so the blossoms become three-dimensional. Next, measure the size of your glass and cut off the excess paper. Use double-sided tape to secure the paper onto the outside of the glass. When you are ready to use, place the LED light in the glass.
