Our Mr. Electric technicians are happy to perform an electrical safety inspection on your home. Electrical safety inspections keep both you and your home safe by ensuring that your home meets the legal standards for safety. We recommend that you get an inspection when buying a new home, or if your home is more than 40 years old. There are several items our electricians will check when performing the safety inspection.
Improper wiring or old wiring can result in electrical safety hazards. Our electricians will assess the wiring in your home and give you potential upgrade options for your wiring if necessary. If you have aluminum wiring or old knob and tube wiring, it is important to have your home rewired.
Our electricians will make sure the panel is correctly labeled and has the right amount of amperage for your home. We will also check to make sure the panel is operating properly and not at risk for fire or shock.
Our electricians will assess outlets to make sure they are operating properly and safely. We will also give suggestions for outlet upgrades that can ensure your safety, such as Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) and Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFI).
Smoke and Carbon Dioxide Detectors
These detectors should be checked every six to 12 months. Our electricians will test smoke and CO detectors during the safety inspection.
